Course Description

This training will focus on aspects of today’s military family that makes them unique. Various components of the military lifestyle will be reviewed such

as a family perspective of military culture and the affects of deployment(s). Resources specific to healthcare professionals treating service members will

be highlighted.


Target Audience


Psychologists, counselors, social workers and all healthcare practitioners who provide treatment to service men and women and/or their families.


Learning OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the course participants will be able to:

Relate the importance of military culture
Explain the constellations of military families
Describe the stages of deployment
List one family stressor associated with each stage of deployment
Compare and contrast deployment issues and resources available to Active Duty service members' families and Reserve Component families.
